The Hollywood couple confirmed the news in a joint statement shared with People on Tuesday, explaining that the decision was made with their family in mind.
Seyfried and Sadoski, who have two children together, said they remain committed to maintaining a strong connection despite no longer being married.
“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit,” the couple said in their statement. “We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.”

Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, first met in 2015 while working together on the Off-Broadway production The Way We Get By.

The pair crossed paths again several months later when they were cast as love interests in the film The Last Word.
Their on-screen chemistry eventually developed into a real-life romance, and they began dating in March 2016.
Their relationship progressed rapidly.
Seyfried and Sadoski became engaged later that same year, before choosing to marry in an intimate ceremony away from the attention normally surrounding celebrity weddings.
Sadoski later revealed that the couple had secretly eloped in March 2017.
Rather than organizing a large Hollywood wedding, they traveled to the countryside with an officiant and exchanged vows privately.
“We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing,” Sadoski said at the time.
He described the ceremony as deeply personal and said it was exactly what the couple wanted.
“It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other,” he recalled.
The couple’s first child, daughter Nina, was born only days after their wedding.
They later welcomed their second child, son Thomas Jr., in September 2020.
