Dolph Lundgren made a rare public appearance with his wife Emma Krokdal as the couple attended a charity event in Beverly Hills.
The 68-year-old action star looked in good spirits as he joined Krokdal, 30, at the All-Stars for Change charity event on Thursday.
The appearance comes nearly two years after Lundgren publicly revealed that he was cancer-free following a lengthy battle with kidney cancer.
Lundgren kept his look classic and relaxed for the occasion, wearing a black suit with a crisp white shirt and a pair of beige sneakers.
The casual footwear gave the otherwise formal outfit a more laid-back touch.
Krokdal, a personal trainer, complemented her husband in a black off-the-shoulder dress paired with buff-colored peep-toe heels.
The couple appeared comfortable together as they attended the event, which was held at Novikov Beverly Hills and benefited After-School All-Stars, a nonprofit organization that provides free after-school and summer programs for children.
The organization was founded by Lundgren’s longtime friend and fellow action movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1992.
Lundgren was not simply attending as a celebrity guest. The actor also got involved in the evening’s activities, stepping behind the bar to help mix cocktails for attendees.
The appearance offered another glimpse at Lundgren’s life following an extraordinarily difficult health journey.
The Swedish-American actor was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2015, when doctors discovered and removed a tumor from his left kidney.
Following the surgery, Lundgren remained free of symptoms and showed no signs of the disease for several years.
However, in 2020, he began experiencing acid reflux.
Further medical examinations revealed that cancer had returned, with additional tumors discovered in his abdominal area.
The actor later opened up about the seriousness of his condition and recalled being told by one doctor that he should consider spending more time with his family.
Lundgren said the doctor estimated that he might have only a few years left, although the actor believed the doctor’s tone suggested the situation could have been even more serious.
Rather than giving up, Lundgren sought another medical opinion.
That second evaluation proved particularly important because doctors identified a specific mutation in his tumors.
The discovery allowed Lundgren to receive targeted treatment designed to address that particular cancer mutation.
The treatment proved successful, with the tumors shrinking significantly.
After years of dealing with the disease, Lundgren eventually shared his positive health news with fans.
In November 2024, the Rocky IV star announced that he was cancer-free in a video shared on social media. The emotional update showed Lundgren from a hospital bed as he celebrated the results of his treatment.
Since then, the actor has appeared increasingly focused on enjoying life and continuing his career.
His latest charity appearance also comes several months after another major Hollywood event involving his wife and daughter.
Earlier this year, Lundgren attended the Los Angeles premiere of Masters of the Universe with Krokdal and his daughter Greta, 24, whom he shares with his former wife Anette Qviberg.
The premiere had particular significance for Lundgren because of his connection to the Masters of the Universe franchise.
The actor famously portrayed Prince Adam, also known as He-Man, in the 1987 film adaptation.
For the 2026 reboot, Lundgren returned to the franchise in a cameo appearance.
Rather than reprising his original role, he appears as a gym-goer who encounters the new version of Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine.
Lundgren previously described passing the He-Man role to Galitzine as a special experience.
He praised the younger actor’s performance and said he was honored to be involved with the new production.
Lundgren also explained that he enjoyed being able to appear in the movie and offer Galitzine advice when necessary.
The original He-Man character became a major pop-culture phenomenon after first appearing as an action figure in 1982.
The character’s popularity grew further following the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which premiered in the 1980s.
Despite decades having passed since Lundgren first played the character, the actor believes there is still something special about the franchise.
Galitzine, meanwhile, has spoken candidly about the physical challenge of taking over the iconic role.
The actor revealed that he initially felt like he did not fully belong in the He-Man costume because he had not yet completed his physical transformation for the part.
Galitzine explained that he had only around five months to transform his body for the demanding role.
Coming from a sporting background and having experience in gyms, he nevertheless found the scale of the transformation challenging.
The actor said that filming even began while he was still working toward his final physique.
His training routine reportedly had to fit around production, with Galitzine describing moments when he would have only minutes between setups to complete additional exercise.
Ultimately, however, seeing the reactions of the filmmakers when he arrived on set in full costume gave him confidence that the intense preparation had been worthwhile.
For Lundgren, the new film represents another connection to a character that helped define his career.
