Euphoria Creator Sam Levinson Leaks Major Spoilers for Season 3

Fans of HBO’s smash-hit drama Euphoria were hit with a wave of unexpected revelations this week after creator Sam Levinson unveiled major Season 3 spoilers during an HBO Max presentation in London.

While viewers have been waiting over two years for the show’s return, the newly revealed storylines have sparked intense debate—especially a controversial romantic twist involving Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie and Jacob Elordi’s Nate.

Euphoria last aired in January 2022, and speculation surrounding the future of the series has only grown since then.

Levinson finally broke his silence, confirming that Season 3 will jump forward four years, taking the characters well beyond their high school years.

According to Levinson, this time jump felt like the most logical step. “Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college, they’d be out of college at that time,” he explained.

The new storyline picks up with Rue (Zendaya) far from home—south of the U.S. border and still entangled in the dangerous web spun by drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly).

Rue’s journey will reportedly focus on her attempts to escape debt and confront the consequences of her past decisions.

But the revelation that truly ignited fan outrage involved Cassie and Nate’s relationship arc. Levinson revealed that the pair have not only reconnected—they are living together in the suburbs, engaged, and leading a quiet but unsettling life.

Cassie, according to the creator, has become “very addicted to social media and envious of the big lives all of her high school classmates appear to be living.”

For many longtime fans, the decision to revisit this toxic duo was the last plot twist they expected or wanted. Social media quickly filled with criticism.

“Cassie ending up as a suburban housewife married to NATE is the plot twist I both never wanted and somehow always saw coming.

Sam Levinson hates us,” one viewer wrote on X. Others echoed the sentiment, with one user commenting, “Cassie marrying Nate proves some people don’t need love—they need therapy and airplane mode.”

Another reaction read: “Cassie & Nate hitched? From high school hookups to suburban doom-scrolling—Euphoria’s wildest fanfic just went canon.”

Levinson didn’t stop at Cassie and Nate’s storyline. He also revealed where several beloved characters land after the time jump.

Jules (Hunter Schafer) is enrolled in art school and struggling with self-doubt, while Maddy (Alexa Demie) is navigating the fast-paced world of Hollywood as a talent agency assistant.

Lexi (Maude Apatow), meanwhile, is working as an assistant to a showrunner—portrayed by none other than Sharon Stone, who joins the cast this season.

Season 3 will also introduce several new faces, including Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, and former NFL star Marshawn Lynch.

However, some familiar names will be notably absent.

Storm Reid, who played Rue’s sister, Gia, does not appear to be part of the new lineup. Barbie Ferreira, who exited the series in 2022, also remains out, and the late Angus Cloud—whose portrayal of Fezco became a fan favorite—will be deeply missed following his passing in July 2023.

Despite the backlash, anticipation for Season 3 remains high. HBO confirmed that the new season of Euphoria is slated to premiere in April 2026, marking one of the most highly awaited returns in recent television history.

As fans brace for the next chapter, one thing is clear: Sam Levinson is steering the series into bold, unpredictable territory—whether viewers are ready for it or not.
