Irish Influencer Niamh Cullen Mourns Tragic Loss of Husband Jamie Gill at 33, One Year After Wedding.
Irish influencer Niamh Cullen is facing an unimaginable tragedy after the death of her husband, Jamie Gill, at just 33 years old, barely a year after celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

The heart-wrenching news was shared by Cullen on Instagram on Saturday, leaving fans and followers deeply moved by her emotional tribute.
Cullen wrote, “The unimaginable has happened. Our worst nightmare. My beautiful husband has been taken from us. The light of my life. I was the luckiest to be loved and adored by you, Jamie.
I love you endlessly, not just now, but eternally.” She went on to reflect on the couple’s love, laughter, and shared moments, describing the grief as overwhelming. “This video for me shows our unconditional love, fun, and laughter. I’m broken,” she added.
An obituary confirmed that Gill passed away surrounded by his loving family, with the care of the St. Francis Hospice staff in Raheny. His family expressed their deep sorrow, stating, “Our lives will never be the same at the untimely loss of a loving husband, cherished son, and a fantastic brother.”
Gill is survived by his wife Niamh Cullen, his parents Barbara and Hugh, brothers, mother- and father-in-law Geraldine and James, brother-in-law Jack, sisters-in-law Grace, godson Hughy, goddaughter Emily, niece Sadie, and his godparents Moya and Roderick.

Funeral arrangements indicate that Jamie will repose at his parents’ home on Sunday from 4 PM to 7 PM. The removal will take place on Tuesday morning to St. Vincent De Paul Church, Griffith Avenue, for an 11:30 AM Funeral Mass, followed by burial at Balgriffin Cemetery. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.
Just weeks prior to his passing, Cullen shared an intimate post reflecting on the couple’s first wedding anniversary, describing the sudden onset of Jamie’s illness and their harrowing battle with cancer.
She revealed that just three days after their wedding, Jamie became seriously unwell, turning what was meant to be a minimoon in Rome into ten days in the hospital.
Subsequent scans revealed a cancerous tumor, and Gill faced ten rounds of chemotherapy with courage.
Cullen detailed the terrifying health complications that followed, including pneumonia that escalated to sepsis, and the heartbreak of learning that the cancer had returned after a temporary improvement.
She described the emotional toll of witnessing her husband endure such suffering so early in their marriage, saying, “It’s been unimaginably tough seeing the person you love suffer and to feel so helpless.

I get these waves of guilt daily because all I want to do is just swap places or take it away. But I can’t.”
Despite the grief, Cullen highlighted her husband’s resilience and positive outlook throughout their ordeal. She expressed admiration for his strength, stating, “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to articulate Jamie’s strength throughout this entire journey.
He never ceases to amaze me with his incredible positive outlook and mindset, even in the darkest moments.” She also reflected on their love, calling Jamie her inspiration and hero.
The couple’s journey together began in 2017 when they met at Bingo Loco, a local bingo hall. They moved in together in 2021, and a year later Jamie proposed.
In a 2025 interview with VIP Magazine, Cullen spoke about their life together, noting the challenges of Jamie’s health struggles and the importance of taking life day by day while balancing personal and home life.

The news of Jamie Gill’s death has been met with an outpouring of sympathy from fans, friends, and the influencer community.
Cullen’s candid sharing of their love story and the couple’s battle with illness has resonated deeply, highlighting both the fragility of life and the enduring strength of love.
This tragic story serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges young couples can face unexpectedly and underscores the importance of support, care, and compassion in times of unimaginable loss.
