The year’s most spectacular wedding saw Hollywood and Bollywood unite, with JLo performing and guests marveling at a breathtaking custom cake.
A lavish multi-day wedding in Udaipur, India, has captured global attention after billionaire heir Netra Mantena married technology entrepreneur Vamsi Gadiraju in what is being described as one of the most extravagant ceremonies of 2025.

The celebration, staged near the iconic Taj Lake Palace—a landmark featured in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy—featured a star-studded guest list, a breathtaking luxury setting and a towering custom-designed cake that has dominated social media trend charts.
The bride, Netra Mantena, is the daughter of pharmaceutical tycoon Rama Raju Mantena, CEO of Ingenus Pharmaceuticals, a multinational healthcare group operating across the United States, Switzerland and India.
Reports estimate that the ceremony cost close to $6.7 million, placing it among the most expensive weddings held in India in recent years.

International music icon Jennifer Lopez was one of the biggest highlights of the celebration, performing several of her best-known hits including Waiting for Tonight and On the Floor.
The 56-year-old entertainer attended both as a guest and headline performer, and social media videos showed attendees dancing enthusiastically as she commanded the stage with her signature choreography and production style.

Before performing, Lopez posed with the newlyweds in an elegant, embellished saree paired with emerald jewelry—an ensemble praised online for blending Hollywood glamour with traditional Indian fashion.
Lopez’s team has not yet confirmed the performance fee, but industry experts say such private concerts often cost millions of dollars.

The wedding drew numerous global public figures and celebrities. Among the guests were Donald Trump Jr. and his partner Bettina Anderson, who were photographed smiling and dancing during Lopez’s performance.
Their presence has fueled ongoing speculation regarding a possible engagement, following comments from associates suggesting the couple may soon be planning a wedding of their own.
A long list of Bollywood A-listers also attended, including Ram Charan, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit, Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nora Fatehi, and Karan Johar.
International business leaders and Hollywood personalities were also seen checking into luxury hotels throughout Udaipur ahead of the event.

One of the ceremony’s most talked-about elements was the approximately 15-foot multi-tier cake, designed to resemble a white palace and decorated with intricately sculpted tigers, elephants and cascading floral patterns.
The custom creation was crafted by Paris-based luxury cake designer Bastien Blanc-Tailleu. Videos showcasing the cake’s craftsmanship quickly went viral, drawing millions of views across social platforms.
Mixed Reactions on Social Media
Despite admiration for its beauty and grand scale, local media reported that some residents criticized the cost of the wedding as unnecessary excess, labeling it “a waste of money” during challenging economic times.

Supporters countered that such large-scale events boost hospitality, tourism and regional employment.
The event has drawn comparisons to the 2024 wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, attended by global figures including the Kardashians, Bill Gates and Boris Johnson, which set a benchmark for ultraluxe celebrations in India.
Following her performance, Lopez continues to prepare for her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, scheduled for late 2025 and into 2026.

She also recently released her latest film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and continues to grow her skincare company JLo Beauty, which announced in November that its eye mask product won the Beauty Innovation Award for Eye Mask Product of the Year.
The brand highlighted skincare benefits powered by tetrapeptides and hyaluronic acid, marketed as a 15-minute solution for refreshed, luminous eyes. Another product, Beso Balm, was recently promoted as a seasonal beauty essential.
