Morrone stars as Rachel Harkin, a bride-to-be traveling to a secluded, snow-covered family cabin for her wedding to Nicky Cunningham, played by The White Lotus breakout Adam DiMarco.
The official synopsis promises a descent into madness: “A certain atmosphere of horror is felt the week before the celebration of an unfortunate wedding.”
During the week-long countdown to the ceremony, Rachel experiences a series of eerie coincidences and “dreadful surprises” that lead her to question the sanity of her fiancé and his wealthy, mysterious family.
The cast is rounded out by industry veterans including Jennifer Jason Leigh as the controlling matriarch Victoria and Ted Levine as the idealistic Boris.
While her career is reaching new heights, Morrone remains refreshingly grounded, a trait she displayed during her sit-down with Jimmy Fallon.
She recounted a hilarious anecdote from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) where she was swarmed by paparazzi, only to realize they had the wrong person.
“I got out of the car at LAX and there was a bunch of TMZ and paparazzi outside and I was like, ‘Oh! Wow! That Emmy nomination really worked!’” she joked to the audience.
The illusion was shattered when a photographer asked why she had “dropped out of the Sesame Street movie.
” A quick Google search later, Morrone realized she was being mistaken for Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway, who had recently exited the project.
“Anne Hathaway had just fallen out,” she explained with a laugh, noting that being mistaken for a Hollywood icon is a compliment she’ll happily take.
