News of the season five release date follows recent reports of an open casting call for extras in Venice, Italy. The production was reportedly filming in Venice from August 16 to August 25, seeking 500 extras who were specifically described as “beautiful” and having a “lean physique.” This casting call aligns with the new plotline, which will feature Emily taking a romantic trip to Venice with her new love interest, Marcello Muratori, played by Italian actor Eugenio Franceschini.
Lily Collins, 36, also gave her own sneak peek to fans by sharing a photo on her Instagram from the set. She posted pictures of herself in a tomato-print sundress while on a water taxi in Venice, with the caption, “A very Venetian getaway.
