Tyler Cameron says his fiancée told him not to be a prude while performing intimate choreography with DWTS partner Sharna Burgess.
Tyler Cameron has revealed that his fiancée, Tate Madden, is encouraging him to embrace the flirty side of his Dancing With the Stars performances, even when that means getting physically close to his professional dance partner, Sharna Burgess.

The 33-year-old reality TV star opened up about Madden’s surprisingly relaxed attitude toward his onstage chemistry with Burgess during a rehearsal break on Tuesday, explaining that his future wife wants him to commit fully to the choreography rather than hold back.
“She’s like, ‘Touch her. Touch her leg. Do what you’re supposed to do in the dance. Don’t be a prude little middle-schooler,'” Cameron said, admitting that he sometimes struggles to let loose.

“She’s about the performance of it all and making that come to life because she was a dancer, so she understands. This is one of her dreams,” he added.
Madden, 33, is a photographer who met Cameron while working on his home renovation series, Going Home with Tyler Cameron, in 2022. The couple announced their engagement in August, marking another milestone in their relationship.

Rather than feeling uncomfortable about Cameron’s dance-floor chemistry with Burgess, Madden appears to understand that physical contact and flirtation are part of putting on a convincing performance.
Burgess, 41, has also noticed the support Cameron receives at home, revealing that his fiancée is helping him prepare for the demanding ABC competition.
“When Ty’s not with me, he’s usually in the gym with either himself or Tate practicing his moves, which I very much appreciate,” the professional dancer said.

Tyler Cameron Is Determined to Prove Himself on DWTS
Cameron first rose to fame in 2019 when he finished as the runner-up on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette.
His appearance on the dating reality show helped launch a modeling career and opened the door to additional television opportunities.
The former college football player has since established himself as a television personality and general contractor, with a growing audience of fans following his professional and personal life.

He is also the most-followed male contestant in the Bachelor franchise, boasting approximately 2.1 million Instagram followers.
However, his previous experience with dance has not necessarily made his latest television challenge any easier.
While attending Wake Forest University, Cameron took ballet and jazz classes to improve his GPA before graduating in 2015.

Although he eventually developed an appreciation for the art form, he admitted that those lessons have not given him a significant advantage in the ballroom.
“I ended up really liking it a lot. It didn’t really help me much, though, I’ll say that … All that’s out the window,” he said.
Cameron also played as a backup quarterback at Wake Forest, and his former football teammates have been closely following his transformation from athlete to ballroom performer.

According to the reality star, his former teammates regularly share their thoughts about his performances in a group chat.
“I’m in a group chat with them. Every week they text me. They have very strong opinions … It’s a wild chat to be in,” he said.
One of those former teammates is Matt James, who competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2021 after starring on The Bachelor.

James offered Cameron some advice before his own stint on the show, although the guidance was not exactly what the determined dancer wanted to hear.
“We were laughing because he was like, ‘Man, just have fun. Enjoy the time … Do all the things that LA has to offer,'” Cameron recalled.
“And I was like, ‘Man, I got no time for fun, I want to dance.'”

Wedding Plans and New Television Projects Await
Once his Dancing With the Stars journey comes to an end, Cameron will have another television project to tackle.
The Florida native is preparing to film Let’s Go Back to Your Place, an upcoming HGTV series that he describes as a combination of a dating show and a house tour program.
Away from television, he is also looking forward to planning his wedding to Madden, although the couple may have different ideas about the perfect celebration.

As a general contractor, Cameron admitted that his first instinct would be to take a hands-on approach to creating the venue himself.
“If it was up to me, I’d be building the place. I’ve been trying to pitch to her building a wedding venue, but I think she wants to do a destination wedding,” he said.
Despite his enthusiasm for construction, Cameron made it clear that his priority is ensuring Madden gets the wedding she has always envisioned.
“I really want to make it her dream. She deserves to have the dream wedding and anything that she could have ever wanted.
So it is my goal and job to support that and make that happen for her,” he explained.

Cameron is also thinking ahead to another important wedding-day moment: the couple’s first dance.
After spending time perfecting his moves on the ABC competition, he wants to make sure their first dance is something they can look back on proudly. He even suggested that Burgess could help prepare them for the occasion.
“I’ve seen some bad first dances and I can’t be having that on my name now after doing this show,” he said.
With Madden cheering him on, Burgess guiding him through the choreography and his former football teammates watching every week, Cameron appears determined to make the most of his ballroom experience — while bringing some newly discovered dance-floor confidence into his upcoming wedding.
